Welcome Back March '21

Monday 8th March 2021 was a fantastic day for the children returning to St Andrew’s Infant School in Farnham. It was wonderful to see so many happy, smiling faces, not only from the children but also the parents. There was a buzz of excitement as the children were invited to walk through the balloon arch, which made their Monday morning super special. “It was so exciting coming to school this morning, I can’t wait to play with my friends” said a Year 1 pupil. During the latest lockdown, not only has the school remained open, it has also provided four live lessons delivered daily by their class teachers, as well as online live assemblies from the Executive Head Teacher, Jayne Venables, also the Executive Head of Potters Gate School.

With almost 100% participation from the families at home, we are proud of the fantastic learning and resilience the children have shown during this time. The school carried out a parent survey and were overwhelmed by the positive responses. One parent comment “ An excellent response from St Andrew’s school, we have felt very connected and supported during the period of home learning.”. St Andrew’s prides itself on being a nurturing and child centred environment, where we put the local community at the heart of our learning. Later in the day some of the children had fun playing with the arch which soon looked like a 'GIANT balloon caterpillar' . . . (Click on picture to enlarge)
